Brendan Kelly

Sales, Eastern Region & Canada

Brendan Kelly grew up in the foothills of the White Mountains in Enfield, NH and was introduced to skiing at an early age through an after school ski program run by the local elementary school. His passion for skiing continued to grow through high school and college and, after graduating college in 2013, he decided to explore the ski world and spend “a season” working as a liftie at Snowmass, CO. That “one season” ultimately evolved into an eight year work experience.

While at Snowmass, Brendan worked in a variety of positions. He worked in the lift department for a few years before moving to snowmaking. Through the years working in that department, he became more and more intrigued with the science and technology involved in the process. His commitment was recognized in 2019 when Snowmass nominated him for Colorado Snowmaker of the Year where he was a Finalist. When snowmaking wound down relatively early in the season, Brendan switched to the grooming department where he developed into an accomplished groomer. During the summer, he worked trail crew and began to operate heavy equipment, involved in lift installation site work and snowmaking infrastructure expansion. A serious knee injury in 2020 caused some rethinking about his distant location from family and he accepted a night foreman position at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH.

At Loon, Brendan spent his first season learning the Loon system, the largest in NH and one of the largest in the east. He was subsequently named manager of the pumps and compressors division of the snowmaking department. In that position, he was responsible for developing increased system efficiency, culminating in the initiation of a process to modernize compressor controls. He also continued his equipment operation during the summer season performing site work on the Kancamagus Eight, NH’s showcase lift, as well installation of snowmaking infrastructure. Both Snowmass and especially Loon through their constant strive to expand and produce the best possible experience for the guest, gave Brendan his continued knowledge of Winter and Summer operations.
